OFFERING FOR TESCO (WHERE WINGS TAKE DREAM) 2009

OFFERING FOR TESCO 2009 A plane constructed by the ‘John Frum Tribe* in Papa New Guinea was recreated outside a London Tesco supermarket during rush hour. Based upon the first image that appears when typing the word ‘cargo cult’ into Google, the facsimile, made from the contents of the supermarket's skip was abandoned as an anonymous offering in the carpark. An image of the plane then re-entered the internet under the term ‘cargo cult’ with the long-term goal of replacing the original image on which it was based. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
